Richard Vasser is a veteran law enforcement officer and concluded a 34 year with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Senior Trooper. Mr. Vasser spent the last 15 years of his career on the command staff as media liaison officer in the Emergency Operations Center during both manmade and natural disaster situations. His Emergency Management/Homeland Security experience includes development of traffic management and emergency evacuation planning, Homeland Security planning and regulations for facility and maritime security, as well as anti-terrorism and emergency response training.  He has forged partnerships with members of the Homeland Security community at all levels of government. Mr. Vasser holds the Master Peace Officer and Instructor Certificates from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.  Additionally, he is FEMA-certified in Flood Fight Operations and as an (Advanced) Public Information Officer. Mr. Vasser was educated at Lamar University, where he was awarded the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree.
